Custom Machine Design & Building

Complete machines and production equipment built around your process — engineered, fabricated, machined, assembled, painted and tested under one roof.

Rumix takes pride in its work and their quality is unmatched. They build a complete machine from sourcing of raw material to fabricating, assembling, painting and testing.— OEM – Industrial, Rumix customer for 20 years

One partner, idea to running machine

When standard equipment doesn’t fit

Standard equipment only fits a limited number of applications. When you need a machine built around your product, floor space and operators, RUMIX designs and builds it — sourcing the material, fabricating, machining, assembling, painting and testing in our Hamilton shop.

Keeping the whole build under one roof means one point of contact, fewer hand-offs and a firm schedule. We design new machines from your requirements or modify an existing design.

Ergonomics pays dividends

Designed around the people who run it

Ergonomics is part of our design process from the start — even simple things like product height and slope.

Working heightWork surface set to the operator and task.Less bending and reaching
Tilt & slopeProduct angled toward the operator.Better access and visibility
TurningRotates heavy parts instead of moving people.Fewer awkward movements
Lifting assistRaises and lowers heavy loads mechanically.Fewer lifting injuries
Maintenance accessGuards and covers that open easily.Faster servicing

FAQ

Custom machinery questions

What kinds of machines do you build?
Conveyors, material-handling equipment, lifting, tilting and turning equipment, production fixtures, machine frames and bases, guarding, and complete special-purpose machines.
Can you design the machine, or do I need drawings?
Either. Our engineering background lets us design a new machine from your requirements or modify an existing design. If you have drawings, we build to them.
Do you build ergonomic equipment?
Yes. Ergonomics is part of our design process — the right working height and slope, and equipment that turns, tilts or lifts parts so operators don’t have to.
Do you test machines before delivery?
Yes. Machines are assembled and tested in our shop before delivery, so start-up at your plant is quick.
Can you modify or upgrade an existing machine?
Yes. We regularly rework, rebuild and upgrade existing equipment. See equipment repair & remanufacturing.
